Birmingham Diamond League preview!!
The Birmingham diamond league is kicking off today at 1 PM UK time today! It hosts many intriguing races and world class athletes for us to watch.
The men's and women's hammer throw both look like a one way affair for Poland with World champion Fajdek Pawel, and top class athlete Fiodorow Joanna easily going for gold!!!
Moving on through the field events, Greek superstar will be looking for yet another win in the women's pole vault. Meanwhile South Africa's Luvo Manyonga will hope to continue his great form in the men's long jump but America's Jarrion Lawson will have something to say!
Mo Farah will be going for gold in the men's 3000m later in the program as he aims to bounce back after his lost in London.
The women's 800m may not be absolutely stacked, but it could be one of the races of the day! Lynsey Sharp and Charlene Lipsey are the main favorites but any one of the athletes could easily breakthrough and claim victory!!
However the men's 800m race is certainly more packed containing four 800m finalists from London and two 1500m finalists! The fast finishing Adam Kszczot should do well, along with Botswana's Nijel Amos ran the third fastest time ever and the second fastest this year!!
Croatia's Sandra Perkovic should be a clear winner in the women's discus throw along with Barshim from Qatar in the men's high jump!
The women's 3000m meter is full of talent! 5000m world champion Hellen Obiri will take on 3000m steeple chase world champion Emma Coburn along with many other world class athletes including the fast finishing Sifan Hassan!!
Ta-Lou of the Ivory coast is the favorite for the women's 100m with Dafne Schippers and Elaine Thompson also ones to watch!
Chris O'Hare will be looking for gold in front of a home crowd but faces steep competition from American's Robby Andrews and Evan Jager in the men's mile
Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake will also be looking for home glory but faces world champion Ramil Guliyev and 400m star Isaac Makwala in the men's 200m.
It's found to be a great day of action with coverage beginning at 1:30 PM on BBC 1!
